As an agency focused not only on treating the effects of abuse and violence, but also preventing them, Synergy addresses this critical situation through our STOP Violence programs.

The programs utilize curricula customized for age and gender to teach empathy and respect and introduce youth, parents and school personnel to proven strategies that prevent and overcome bullying behavior. Offerings include:

• Power Through Choices: An interactive life-skills program for students from pre-school through high school.  Sensitive educators provide school-based, age-appropriate presentations on topics of sexual abuse, relationship violence, child abuse, self-esteem, domestic violence and effective decision making.
• Get Connected: A comprehensive bully prevention program with components for students and parents as well as school personnel and community groups. The program promotes proactively eliminating peer abuse through kindness and positive peer relationships.
• STEP Up: An eight-week “lunch and learn” program for middle school girls that addresses female bullying.
